What are Upwork’s Talent Badges? (For Agencies 2022)

Upwork offers badges to agencies that meet specific criteria and demonstrate a commitment to quality and professionalism. These badges are displayed on the agency’s profile and can help clients identify agencies that have a proven track record on the platform.

There are three types of badges that agencies can earn on Upwork:

  1. Raising Talent: This badge lets clients know you are among the best new freelancers in Upwork. To qualify for this badge, an agency must fully complete its profile and comply with Upwork’s terms of service.

  2. Top Rated Agency: This badge is awarded to agencies with a high overall rating from clients, a high success rate on contracts, and a low cancellation rate. To qualify for this badge, an agency must maintain agency Rising Talent status or an agency Job Success Score of at least 90% for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks. Learn more about the qualification criteria here.

  3. Top Rated Plus Agency: This badge is awarded to agencies with a total earning of over $20k in the past 12 months, have worked on more than one large contract within the past 12 months without negative outcomes, and hold a Top Rated badge.

A large contract is classified differently for each area of work. For “Web, Mobile and Software Development” category, a large contract is a project with a minimum budget of $15k. Learn more about Upwork’s “large contracts” criteria here.

  4. Expert-Vetted Agency: This badge is only awarded through Upwork’s pre-screening process. Agencies and freelancers are evaluated by Upwork’s Talent Managers and proven to have excellent skills in their areas of expertise and communication.
No JSS or timeline is required, but an invitation to participate in the process is.

Earning one of these badges can help an agency stand out on Upwork and show clients their dedication, reliability, and professionalism. Therefore, it is important for agencies to maintain a high level of performance to retain their badges and continue to be recognized as top-performing organizations on the platform.
